Orchestra Senza Confini/Brez Meja Orkester – The Orchestra Without Frontiers was established in 2011 at first Brda Contemporary Music Festival in Smartno (Slo). Giovanni Maier ( one of the founders on the Dob Orchestra of Dobialab, Staranzano – Gorizia, research group workingon improvise music) and Zlatko Kaučič (leader of the slovenian kombo formation based in Nova Gorica) join forces in a single formation called ‘Senza Confini’. The Orchestra Senza Confini/Brez Meja Orkester have exibited with rappresentatives on international improvise music scene such as Evan Parker, Johannes Bauer, Saadet Türköz, Ab Baars, Joëlle Léandre, Tristan Honsinger, Trevor Watts. Since 2014 Giovanni Maier and Zlatko Kaučič have been experimenting dual simultaneous orchestra conduction, the result of wich is a kaleidoscope of sounds wich mantain consistency and utility, facilitated by the two conductors who exchange the sections to be directed during the performance.
